At Delaware: Top all-around player on the team...can score with anybody in America East, but will also provide versatility to the starting lineup...looked to as the Blue Hens go-to scorer in big spots...2000-01 Season: Tri-Captain...begins the season 10th in career points at Delaware with 1,118, 37 points behind teammate Cindy Johnson and 442 behind all-time leader Colleen McNamara...she is also 15th on the Delaware career rebounding list with 489 (only 13 others have recorded 500 in a career)...also ranks 15th on the UD career assist list...could become only the fourth player to record 1,000 career points, 500 career rebounds and 200 career assists at Delaware...she also ranks second in career free throws and third in career free throw attempts...1999-2000 Season: Second-team All-America East selection...seventh in America East in scoring at 14.4 ppg...tenth in America East in rebounding at 7.4 rpg...became just the fourth player to score her 1,000th career point in her junior season, joining Colleen McNamara and Debbie Eaves and teammate Cindy Johnson...she and Johnson are only the third pair to play together at Delaware and score 1,000 career points at the same time (joining Debbie Eaves and Sharon Wisler in 1989-90 and Colleen McNamara and Merel vanZanten in 1993-94)...third in America East in offensive rebounding with nearly four per game...also ranked sixth in field goal percentage (45.4%) and second in free throw percentage (76.6%)...1998-99 Season: Named to America East second-team all-conference...led the team in scoring (15.5 ppg), assists (3.3 apg), steals (2.3 spg) and free throw percentage (.757), ranking in the Top 10 in America East in each of those catagories...led the team in scoring in 14 of the 24 games she played in...scored in double-figures in 20 of 27 games...scored 20 or more points six times; UD was 6-0 in those games...tied a career-high with 11 rebounds against Canisius (Dec. 20)...recorded double-doubles against Canisius (26 pts. and 11 reb. on Dec. 20) and Maine (13 pts. and 10 reb. on Feb. 18)...earned America East Player of the Week honors Dec. 7-13...1997-98 Season: Earned America East All-Rookie honors...set UD freshman scoring record with 358 points on season...finished eighth in the America East in ppg averaging 13.3 ppg as a freshman...set the Carpenter Center single-game record for most points scored by a Delaware player with 34 against Northeastern...34 points vs. Northeastern also set a UD single-game record for points by a freshman...second on team in defensive rebounds with 101 and first on the team in assists with 60.

High School: Ranked as the fourth-best senior in Virginia for the 1996-97 season at Oakton High School...named to Street & Smith's honorable mention All-American team...scored a school-record 1,235 points and averaged 16.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg as a senior and 15.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg as a junior...earned first-team all-state, All-DC Metro and Region Player of the Year honors in 1996-97...three-time all-district selection...also played soccer.

Personal: Danielle Elita Leyfert... born Sept. 14, 1979 in Los Angeles, CA...daughter of Carol Leyfert and Marshall Williams...business administration major...represented Delaware at the NCAA Leadership conference in Orlando, FL in 1999.
