DURHAM, NH -- Sophomore guard Cindy Johnson and sophomore forward Renee Baker each fired away for 21 points and the University of Delaware controlled the second half as the Blue Hens posted a 80-68 America East women's basketball victory over host New Hampshire Sunday at the Whittemore Center.

Delaware (11-6, 5-4), which rebounded from a 30-point loss at the hands of league-leading Maine Friday night, ended a three-game losing streak in Durham with their first win at UNH since 1994-95.

The Hens trailed 37-28 at halftime and were down 57-48 with 9:47 left to play before exploding on a 24-2 run to take control of the game. Delaware held New Hampshire (11-4, 5-3) to a single field goal over a stretch of eight minutes and 20 seconds and used 11 of 12 free throw shooting down the stretch to ice the game.

Baker, a sophomore forward transfer from American, hit on 7 of 13 shots from the field for 21 points and added 13 rebounds and Johnson added six assists for the Hens. Freshman guard Megan Dellegrotti chipped in with 16 points and freshman forward Lindsay Davis added 12 off the bench to lead the Blue Hen effort. The Hens, among the national leaders in free throw shooting, converted 29 of 33 (.879) from the line for the game, including 24 of 27 (.889) in the second half.

New Hampshire, which began the season with a 7-0 record this season, hit just 37 percent of its shots in the second half (11 of 30). Forward Adrian Domanski led the Wildcats with 16 points while Heidi Flencner and Aubrey Danen each added 10 points. The Hens held leading scorer Orsi Farkas (17.3 ppg) to just nine points for the game, the first time since her freshman year that the junior forward has been kept in single digits.
