Delaware 98, M.I. Express 45 November 4, 2001 Allison Trapp led Delaware with 17 points NEWARK, DE -- Four players scored in double-digits for the University of Delaware as it defeated the M.I. Express, 98-45, in exhibition women's basketball Sunday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center. The M.I. Express is a traveling team consisting of former college players, including four players out of CAA schools Old Dominion and William and Mary. The game was Delaware's final exhibition game. The Hens will open their regular season later this month as they take on Liberty University at the UNC Greensboro Tournament on November 23. Delaware took the lead in the first minute and never looked back, taking a 22-point lead into halftime. The relentless defense of Delaware guards Allison Trapp (Philadelphia, PA) and Megan Dellegrotti (Berwick, PA) forced the majority of the Express' 34 turnovers, leading to the Hens' 22 points off fast-breaks. Many of those points came from Trapp, who lead the Hens with 17 points and eight assists. Dellegrotti led the UD outside attack, scoring 15 points. The 5-6 senior hit on 3 of 5 from three-point range. Freshman Julie Sailor, seeing minutes in her second collegiate action, scored in double-digits for the second time and finished with 14 points. Christine Cole and Christina Rible dominated the under the boards, each pulling down a game-high nine rebounds, as the Hens outrebounded the Express, 56-24.
