Solid defense leads
Delaware to 12th win in last 14
games
NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Tiara
Malcom posted her fourth career double-double, scoring
15 points while grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds, to give
the University of Delaware women's basketball team its 12th
win in its last 14 games, downing James Madison University
in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Bob
Carpenter Center Thursday night, 60-49.

posted her fourth career double-double to lead the
Blue Hens

The Blue Hens, who improved to 12-5
overall and 7-1 in conference play, also got 15 points and
five rebounds from sophomore and reigning CAA Rookie of the
Year Julie Sailer, 13 points and three rebounds from
senior guard Allison Trapp and seven points and a
career-high five rebounds from sophomore forward Tiffany
Young.
With the win, Delaware improved to 22-4
against CAA opponents all-time, 52-10 in conference play
over the past four seasons, and 52-5 at home over the last
five seasons.
James Madison (9-8, 4-4 CAA), which got
13 points from both Nadine Morgan and Shanna Price, fell to
1-4 all-time against the Blue Hens.
Delaware took a 24-19 lead into halftime
and opened the second half on a 11-3 run, sparked by a
Sailer three-pointer, to take a 35-22 lead. James Madison
closed the lead to 41-39 on buckets by Morgan, Price and
Jody LeRose, but senior guard Carrie Timmins drilled
a three with the shot clock running down to put the Blue
Hens up 44-39 with five minutes to go.
Sailer has now posted double-digits in
points in five of her last six games, while Timmins moved
into 10th place on Delaware's all-time three-point field
goal list with 14. Trapp, meanwhile, remains six points
short of 1,000 for her career.
The Blue Hens return to action this
Sunday when they take on CAA rival Old Dominion at the Ted
Constant Convention Center in Norfolk, VA. Game time is set
for 2 p.m.
