CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- Senior Chrissy Fisher (right) posted a career-high 26 points, went 4-for-4 from three-point range, and tied a career-high with 14 rebounds, but the University of Delaware women’s basketball team fell at Boston College, 68-60 on Tuesday night at Conte Forum.

Kindyll Dorsey hit four three-pointers in the first half and five for the game in leading the Eagles (2-0) with 21 points. Dorsey also led Boston College with eight rebounds, while Sarah Marshall contributed nine assists. The Eagles recorded 23 assists on 26 field goals.

Delaware (1-1) jumped out to an early lead by scoring the game’s first seven points. After trading layups with the Hens, the Eagles stormed back with a 10-4 run to take their first lead at 14-13 with 12:16 remaining in the first half.

Boston College, which is receiving votes in this week’s USA Today/ESPN Coaches Top 25 and Associated Press Polls, pushed its lead to 31-23 with 1:14 remaining in the first half after Dorsey made her fourth triple of the half and Ayla Brown followed with a layup. Melissa Czorniewy’s jumper with 21 seconds remaining cut the lead to 31-25 at halftime.

Delaware scored the first four points of the second half to draw within 31-29, but the Blue Hens would get no closer as the Eagles were able to keep the Hens at arms length with the lead between four and 12 throughout the rest of the game.

“I thought we played a very competitive basketball game tonight,” said Delaware head coach Tina Martin. “We hurt ourselves in transition and with missed assignments defensively. Offensively, we need a better overall effort with more balanced scoring.”

Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week Tyresa Smith added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Delaware. The Hens will return to action on Friday evening when they host American University at 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center.
