HANOVER, NH -- Junior guard Koren Schram poured in 23 points and made six three-pointers as Dartmouth scored the final 10 points in a 48-41 victory over the Delaware women's basketball team on Sunday in the Blue Sky Classic third-place game.

Up 41-38 with 4:38 left, the Blue Hens looked to be on the verge of their second victory of the season. But Dartmouth forward Sydney Scott had other ideas, scoring five straight points to put her team ahead 43-41 with 1:31 remaining. Schram then intercepted a pass and hit a 25-foot three-pointer with 47 ticks left to effectively ice the game, adding two free throws a possession later for the final margin.

Schram scored 14 of her points in the second half, draining four of her five three-point tries in the period.

Delaware (1-11, 0-0 CAA) jumped out to a 9-0 lead on the strength of its frantic defense, forcing Dartmouth to turn the ball over on seven of its first eight possessions and holding the Big Green scoreless for the first 6:54 of play.

Senior guard Kyle DeHaven (at right), who was named to the All-Tournament team, scored five points during the run and forced at least four turnovers with her on-ball pressure. But Dartmouth stormed back with an 11-1 spurt to take its first lead at 11-10 on a free throw by center Sydney Scott.

The Hens' relentless pressure spelled trouble for Dartmouth, which shot just 5-for-25 (.200) from the floor in the period. But UD couldn't capitalize on the Big Green's sub-par shooting, as the Hens connected on only 31 percent of their attempts and turned the ball over 11 times in the half.

The teams traded buckets until the halftime horn, and the Green Wave took a 22-21 edge into the locker room. Dartmouth extended its lead to six when Schram opened the second half with a straightaway trifecta - her third of the game - and forward Brittney Smith followed with a lay-in on a backdoor cut.

As they have done for the past several games, the Blue Hens responded. They pieced together a 14-6 surge that put them ahead 35-33 at the 8:03 mark, when DeHaven brought the bench to its feet with a nifty crossover and finish high off the glass.

DeHaven recorded the first double-double of her career with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, adding six steals to bring her career total to 354. Sophomore guard Corinthia Benison matched her backcourt mate with 10 points, her fourth double-figure performance in five games.

With the setback, Delaware extended its school-record losing streak to 11 games. The Hens have now dropped 13 of their last 14 non-conference games dating back to last season.

Junior guard Ethlynne Thomas tallied six points and seven rebounds for Delaware, while senior forward Courtney Irving added six points and eight boards.

The Hens shot 27.7 percent from the floor and were shut out from beyond the arc. UD managed just one assist on the night, the lowest total in school history.

Blue Hen head coach Tina Martin was disappointed that her team couldn't find a way to finish off Dartmouth (2-9, 0-0 Ivy League), which snapped a four-game skid.

"We've played nothing but winning teams so far (this year), so I feel this is a game we should have won," Martin said. "But bad shots and turnovers hurt us, as they have all year."

Scott finished with six points and 13 rebounds for the Big Green.

The Blue Hens return to the court on Jan. 6, when they open their CAA season with a trip to George Mason.
