At Delaware: Team captain. 2008 Season: Served as team captain • member of Varsity Eights boat that finished third at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in 7:44.8 and third at the Kerr Cup/CAA Championships in 7:24.58 • Varsity Eights also placed third at the quad-meet with Saint Joseph’s, Lehigh and Drexel in 5:58.1, and was third at the tri-meet with George Mason and Bucknell in 7:25.98. 2007 Season: Member of Varsity Eights that finished third at the CAA Championships in 6:42.44 and sixth at the ECAC Metro Championships in 6:55.52. 2006 Season: Member of Varsity Eights that won the CAA Championships in 7:03.9 and finished second in the grand final at the Bucknell Quad Meet in 8:35.20.

High School: Three-year member of rowing team at James Madison High School • named All-Met honorable mention • two-year captain and scholar-athlete • named team’s Most Valuable Player • secretary and member of National Honor Society • also a member of Spanish Honor Society and Math Honor Society.

Personal: Elizabeth Ann Carey • daughter of James and Sarah Carey • has an older sister, Meghan, and a younger brother, Tim • Meghan was also a member of crew team in college • member of Air Force ROTC • rowed for Thompsons Boat Club over the summer • nursing major at Delaware with a minor in Air Force ROTC • worked last summer as a nurse extern at Wilmington Hospital • is a member of Air Force ROTC and will be an officer in the Air Force following graduation.
