BOSTON -- The University of Delaware women’s rowing team participated in the Championship Eight Event at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on October 23. This year marked the first time Delaware has competed in the Championship Eight event.

The University of Delaware boat including Kenna Plangemann, Laura Beaufort, Lane Kohl, Nikki Jackowsky, Jess Kostick, Liz Martin, Christina Stanly, Betsy Seeger and Cathy Savarese finished 44th with a time of 19:27.012.

The US Rowing Princeton Training Center won the event in a time of 16:34.633. They were followed by Princeton University-Women Collegiate, London Training Center, University of Virginia and Princeton Training Center.

The Blue Hens will participate in two more exhibition events before the end of the fall season, October 29 at the Head of the Schuykill in Philadelphia and November 5 at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta in Fairfax, VA.
