NEWARK, DE -- Members of the University of Delaware women’s rowing team recently volunteered their time and took part in a Special Olympics Bowling Tournament at New Castle Bowl-A-Rama in New Castle, DE Jan. 20.

Head coach Laura Slice, her staff, and nearly 40 members of the squad spent the entire day at the event and assisted the Special Olympics Delaware staff in tallying scores, organizing the bowlers, and helping to support and cheer on the athletes. This year marked the second straight year that the the UD rowing team took part in the special event.

The UD women’s rowing team will open its 2007 season March 10 when the squad travels to Philadelphia for a dual meet vs. Saint Joseph’s.
