of Delaware Rowers Compete vs. Barry,
Miami (FL)

MIAMI, FL
-- The University of Delaware women's
rowing team competed in action against
Barry University and the University of
Miami as part of their spring break trip
to Florida Saturday.
Barry, the
No. 15 ranked team in NCAA Division II,
won the Varsity Eights race in a time of
6:49.5 followed by Delaware's A team of
Kenna Plangemann, Lyra Sawzin, Lane Kohl,
Maureen Gillen, Melanie Turner, Laura
Beaufort, Jess Kostick, Betsy Seeger, and
Emily McElwain which rowed to a time of
7:04.8. Delaware's B team of Alison
Harrington, Liz Martin, Nikki Jackowsky,
Christina Stanley, Cathy Savarese, Jamie
Schoenewald, Nicky Bradley, Stephanie
Miller, and Jenn Boutin was third in a
time of 7:19.2.
The Hens
also took part in two races vs. the
University of Miami Saturday, winning the
Novice Eights race in 7:19.7 and placing
second behind the Hurricanes in the
Varsity Fours race. Miami won the race in
7:46.9. No time was available for
Delaware.
Delaware's
Novice Eights team consisted of Cami Off
(right), Justine Strausser, Kristen
Cannatelli, Meghan Doletzky, Ashley
Sparano, Salena Klass, Lauren Taylor,
Stephanie Hendrixson, Carly
Gonzalez.
The Blue
Hens' Varsity Fours team consisted of Jill
Goldman, Maria Bellumori, Lynn Hamski,
Katie Broullire, and Lindsey
Wood.
Delaware
will continue action this Saturday when
they take part in the Carolina Challenge
at the University of North Carolina in
Chapel Hill, NC.
