Women Rowers Post Three Top 10 Finishes in
Fall Finale

FAIRFAX,
VA -- The University of Delaware rowing
squad posted an impressive showing in its
final exhibition competition of the fall,
placing in the top 10 in three events at
the Head of the Occoquan Regatta Saturday
afternoon.
Delaware's
top finish was in the Novice Eights where
the team of Cami Off, Ashley Sparano,Karen
Cardinal, Lauren Taylor, Salena Klass,
Justine Strausser, Meghan Doletzky,
Stephanie Hendrixson, and Alyssa Hankins
placed third with a time of 20:24.0.
American University won the race with a
time of 19:49.
The Blue
Hen Varsity Eights "A" team of Alison
Harrington, Lyra Sawzin, Lane Kohl, Laura
Beaufort, Lisa Karwoski, Maureen Gillen,
Melanie Turner, Elizabeth Martin, and
Emily McElwain placed fifth in a time of
18:27.0 and the "B" team of Kenna
Plangemann, Rachel Thomas, Nikki
Jackowsky,
Christina
Stanley, Cathy Savarese, Jenn Boutin, Jess
Kostick, Stephanie Miller, and Nicky
Bradley finished 13th with a time of
20:04. Thompson's Boat Center won the
race in a time of 18:04.
Delaware's
Varsity Fours team of Callie Tegan, Betsy
Seeger, Lindsey Wood, Katie Broullire, and
Susan Carbine rowed to a time of 21:39 to
place 10th overall. Penn State won the
race with a time of 20:09.
The Blue
Hens will begin their spring championship
season March 12 at Saint Joseph's in
Philadelphia.
