Delaware at Iona Meet of Champions

Junior Caron Marra placed 54th overall in a time of 19:20.4 to lead the University of Delaware women's cross country team to a 13th place finish at the Iona Meet of Champions Saturday afternoon at Van Cortlandt State Park. Wake Forest, ranked 14th in the nation, edged No. 3 ranked Dartmouth for title in the 20-team field. Marra (Newark/Newark, DE) was Delaware's top finisher for the second time this season, covering the 3.1 mile course in 19:20.4. Other top finishers for the Blue Hens were senior Kristen Robbins in 71st place (19:35.3), freshman Aimee Alexander in 86th place (20:01.9), and junior Nadia Nashed (Ursuline) in 124th place (20:52.3). Wake Forest took the top two individual finishers led by overall champion Janelle Kraus who finished the course in 17:35.3
