ECAC Championships

NEWARK, DE -- Aimee Alexander (Stormville, NY/Carmel) finished 36th to lead the University of Delaware women's cross country team in the 5,000 meter race Saturday at the ECAC Champhionships at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NY.

Alexander led the Blue Hens for the seventh time in eight races, finishing the course in 19:22.10. Lisa Kutzing finished 58th in 21:13.20, and Tess Beinki wsa 59th in 21:26.20 for Delaware, which did not field a complete squad and was not eligible for team scoring.

Bucknell won the meet with 60 points, narrowly defeating James Madison, who finished with 62 points. Sylvia Chelimo of Gardner-Webb won the race with a time of 17:23.10, beating the second place runner by 29 seconds.

The meet was the last of the season for the Delaware women's cross country team.
