Delaware Women's Cross Country Team Now at No. 12 in Mid-Atlantic Poll

athlete photoNEW ORLEANS, LA --- The University of Delaware women’s cross country team dropped one spot to No. 12 and the Blue Hen men’s squad dropped out of the top 15 in the third weekly United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Regional polls announced this week.

The Delaware men’s and women’s teams will continue action this Friday, Oct. 5 when they compete at the Monmouth Invitational in West Long Branch, NJ.

The Blue Hen women placed 27th out of 47 teams at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh last Friday while the UD men harriers were 26th out of 41 teams. The meet featured some of the top NCAA Division I teams in the nation.

In the Mid-Atlantic women’s poll, Princeton remained the top team for the third straight week and was followed by Georgetown, West Virginia, Penn State, Penn, Villanova, LaSalle, Duquesne, Navy, Bucknell, Pittsburgh, Delaware, Saint Joseph’s, Rutgers, and Lehigh.

In the men’s poll, Georgetown remained at No. 1 for the third straight poll and was followed by Villanova, Princeton, Penn State, Penn, Navy, LaSalle, American, Duquesne, Bucknell, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Lehigh, Loyola, and Saint Joseph’s.
