RICHMOND, Va. -- A total of 80 University of Delaware student-athletes have been honored for their academic accomplishments for the fall semester by being named to the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
Student-athletes from the CAA-sponsored fall sports of football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, and volleyball were eligible for the awards. Winter and spring athletes will be honored together in June. To be eligible, a student-athlete must compete in at least one competition during the season and have a semester or cumulative grade point index of 3.0 or higher.
Among the 80 Delaware student-athletes honored were 18 members of the football team, 18 from women’s cross country team, 13 from field hockey, 12 from women’s soccer, seven from volleyball, six from men’s cross country team, and six from men’s soccer.
Five Blue Hen squads had one-third or more of their team members named to the team led by women’s cross country (69 percent), volleyball (50 percent), women’s soccer (48 percent), field hockey (45 percent), and men’s cross country (33 percent).
