FAIRFAX, VA -- Karen Reber, Aimee Alexander and Krista Kugler finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, to pace the University of Delaware women to first place and Pat Riley finished fourth to lead the Blue Hen men to a second place finish at the George Mason Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Bull Run Regional Park. Reber crossed the line in 19:07.91, followed by Alexander's time of 19:35.75 and Kugler's 19:38.64 finish. Jan Baclawski of American University was the top collegiate finisher with a time of 18:20.35. On the men's side, Riley crossed the line in 26:04.35 for his fourth place finish. It marked the third straight week Riley had been Delaware's top finisher. He had won the individual title each of the last two meets. Sean O'Brien of American finished in 25:34.66 to won the race, less than a second ahead of teammate Frank Malpigli. Their 1-2 finish paced American to the men's team title. The Blue Hen cross country teams will host the UD Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park next Saturday morning.
