Senior Brandy Connell was the Blue Hens' top finisher
in the season opener, placing fifth overall in the 20 lb
weight throw with a toss of 53- 1 1/4 at Navy. Connell's
distance set a new Delaware indoor record, breaking the mark
of 52-5 1/4 she set in February, 1998.
