Division I Results Division I Meet Finals Team Standings: 1. Monmouth - 121; 2. Norfolk State - 103; 3. Delaware State - 98; 4. Delaware - 88.5; 5. Villanova - 73.5; 6. UMBC - 72.5; 7. St. Joseph's - 64; 8. Towson - 55 Division II/II Meet Final Team Standings: 1. Millersville - 161; 2. Shippensburg - 126; 3. Kutztown- 111; 4.West Chester - 45; 5. Lincoln - 30; 6. Rowan - 27; 7. Widener - 16 NEWARK, DE - The University of Delaware men had four first place finishes and placed third overall in the team standings and the Blue Hen women had two first place finishes to place fourth overall at the University of Delaware/Thomson Indoor Track and Field Invitational Sunday at Delaware Field House. The meet was scored as a Division I meet and a Division II/III meet based on each team's NCAA classification. Delaware competed in the Division I meet. Monmouth was the Division I women's team champion with 121 points followed by Norfolk State, Delaware State, Delaware, Villanova, UMBC, St. Joseph's, and Towson. Millersville was the women's Division II/III winner with 161 points, ahead of runner-up Shippensburg, Kutztown, West Chester, Lincoln, Rowan, and Widener. In the men's meet, Monmouth was the winner out of 11 teams with 121 points. Delaware State was second with 72 points followed by Delaware, Towson, Penn, Norfolk State, UMBC, Temple, St. Joseph's, Villanova, and American. Lincoln was the Division II/III meet winner with 120 points, getting past Millersville, Kutztown, Shippensburg, West Chester, Rowan, and Widener. The Delaware women had 17 top eight finishes highlighted by first place performances from senior Aimee Alexander in the 3,000 meters and junior Jennie Chiller in the weight throw. Alexander, a senior from Stormville, NY (Carmel HS), ran to a winning time of 9:52.63 in the 3,000 meters to break the 10-year old University of Delaware record of 9:57.69 by Alicia Giuliano in 1992. Chiller (Sharon/Sharon, MA) won the weight throw with a toss of 53-3 3/4. Also for the UD women, Liesje Cardillo (Bishop Eustace/Marlton, NJ) was second in the long jump (17-7 1/4), Laura Dietrich (Northeastern/York, PA) was second in the triple jump (35-2), Cristin Romano (Magruder/Rockville, MD) was third in the 5,000m (19:59.72), Melissa Steward (Millville/Millville, NJ) was third in the pole vault (10-0), Mary Martini (Bishop McDevitt/Harrisburg, PA) was fourth in the 5,000 meters (20:21.56), and Reagan Hastings (Seaford/Seaford, DE) was fourth in the pole vault (9-6 1/4). Delaware had 13 top eight finishes and had four winners on the men's side as junior Jon DiNozzi (Fox Lane, NY/Middletown, DE) won his third meet of the year by capturing the pole vault with a height of 15-9. Also winning for the Hens was junior Pat Riley (St. Mark's/Newark, DE), who won the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:04.80, freshman Jim DelGrosso (Salesianum/Wilmington, DE) won the high jump (6-3 1/4), and senior Butch Patrick (Newark/Newark, DE) won the 60 meter dash (6.86). Also for Delaware, Michael Reh (Middletown/Middletown, NY) was third in the high jump (6-3 1/4), Mike Sadowsky (Brandywine/Wilmington, DE) was third in the 5,000 meters (15:14.12), David Robinson (Salesianum/Wilmington, DE) was fifth in the triple jump (43-6 1/2), and Matt Swierzbinski (Caesar Rodney/Wyoming, DE) was fifth in the 5,000 meters (15:40.12).
