University of Delaware Runners Fare Well in Distance Events at Keogh Invitational at Haverford College

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women’s indoor track and field team posted five top 10 finishes, all in the distance running events, to highlight action at the Keogh Invitational held Friday evening at Haverford College.

The Blue Hens will also be in action Saturday (Feb. 20) when they travel to the Princeton Invitational at Lawrenceville, N.J.

Friday’s meet at Haverford was a non-scoring event at which the Blue Hens took a limited squad that included just 13 competitors, all in the running events.

Delaware enjoyed its best showing in the 800 meters where senior Kellyn Wright (at right) was the Hens’ top finisher with a fourth place time of 2:19.82, just a little over a second off her personal best. Delaware junior Karen Mandrachia was one place behind Wright as she finished fifth with a time of 2:20.11.

Also for the Hens, Alison Zukowski placed seventh in the mile with a time of 5:26.47, Ali Lambert was eighth in the 3,000 meters with a clocking of 11:03.82, Christine Sloat put in a 10th place finish in the mile (5:28.70), Kaylee Pineault was 11th in the 3,000 meters (11:39.75), Tracy Powell was 14th in the 3,000 meters (12:08.51), and Emma Rando finished 15th in the 3,000 meters (12:10.49).
