NEW YORK -- The University of Delaware continued its outstanding women’s indoor track and field season Friday night as the Blue Hens captured four first place finishes, including two by senior sprinter Cristine Marquez, at the New York University Fasttrack Invitational at the New York City Armory.

Marquez (at right) won both the 200 meter and 400 meter competitions and teamed with Asia Hollis, Vicky Caruso, and Kristi Cox to finish second in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:45.74 - just .30 shy of the school record. Marquez broke her own school record in the 400 meters with a time of 54.26, surpassing her mark of 54.51 set earlier this season. The time was also a provisional NCAA championship qualifying mark. She finished the 200 meters with a career-best winning time of 24.39.

Also taking home first place finishes for the Blue Hens were senior Laura Chirico and junior Karen Mandrachia. Chirico captured her 11th career pole vault title with a leap of 11-feet, 3 3.4-inches while Mandrachia was the winner in the 1,000 meters with a clocking of 2:57.44.
