Lacrosse Opens with 10-8 Loss to
Rutgers
PISCATAWAY, NJ -- Liz Chambers scored three goals
and dished out two assists and Viv Sahyoun iced the game
with a goal with 18 seconds left as 12th ranked Rutgers
rallied back to spoil the season opener for the University
of Delaware with a 10-8 women's lacrosse victory Wednesday
afternoon.
The Blue Hens, ranked No. 15 in the latest NCAA Top 20
poll, lost their season opener for the seventh straight

went 14-4 a year ago, had its season opener vs. Old Dominion
Sunday postponed due to snow. Of the Hens' five losses over
the last two seasons, four have been by two goals or

while Amy Sullivan and Robyn Hill each scored
a goal and dished out an assist. Megan Fortunato,
Christy Buck, and freshman Ashley Moderacki
scored the Hens' other goals.
Robin Erthal and Jill Penrose each added two goals for
Rutgers.
After Delaware took a 6-4 lead early in the second half,
Rutgers rallied with five straight goals, including two by
Chambers, to take a 9-6 lead with 12:54 left to play. The
