Delaware 15, Denver 7 March 21, 2004 Three Blue Hens Score Five Points Each in 15-7 Victory over Denver; Wescott Notches 100th Career Victory at Delaware Game Boxscore NEWARK, DE -- Senior attack Michelle Campolettano (Massapequa Park, NY/St. Anthony's), senior attack Shannon Kron (Baltimore, MD/Maryvale Prep), and freshman midfielder Jenny Diana (Burke, VA/Robinson) each scored five points to lead the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team to a 15-7 non-conference victory over University of Denver Sunday afternoon at Rullo Stadium. The win marks the 100th career victory for head coach Denise Wescott (Maryland '80) at the helm of the Delaware women's lacrosse program. Wescott, in her 11th season at Delaware, has amassed a 100-79 record with the Blue Hens and a 122-109 overall record in 15 seasons of coaching. Freshman Jenny Diana (white uniform) scored three goals and two assists in the Hens' win. Campolettano scored a career-high five goals, all in the second half, while Diana notched three goals and two assists and Kron registered two goals and three assists to break Delaware's three-game losing streak with its biggest win of the season. Denver (3-4) jumped out to an early 3-1 lead with 14:18 to go in the first half but Delaware would score four goals to close out the first half with a 5-4 lead. Delaware (2-3) held the advantage in the second stanza of action, as it opened the half with goals by Diana and Campolettano just 22 seconds apart, scoring at 22:21 and 21:59 respectively. The Pioneers answered back at 20:48 as Stephanie Greenlees found the back of the net to cut the Delaware lead to 7-5 but Campolettano scored two consecutive goals to pull away for the win. Campolettano's five goal output marks the most goals scored by a Blue Hen in a single game since Corinne Shuck notched six against Ohio State on March 25, 2002. Sophomore Megan Hager also scored two goals and one assist, and junior Becky Rausa found the back of the net twice for the Blue Hens. Patience Baldwin and Greenlees each scored a pair of goals while Kate Broderick scored one goal and three assists for Denver in a losing effort. Sophomore Patrice Hughes picked up her second win of the season in the cage for Delaware. The Springfield, PA native recorded five saves. Delaware outshot Denver, 44-16, to set a Rullo Stadium record for shots in a game.
