BALTIMORE -- University of Delaware women’s lacrosse standout Katie Muth (at right), a second-year graduate student at UD, has been named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Academic Honor Roll.
Muth, who closed our her playing career in 2008 by leading Delaware to an 11-6 record and a berth in the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals, was the lone Blue Hen named to the team and was one of 159 Division I women’s lacrosse players nationwide to earn a spot on the team.
A native of Ellicott City, Md. (Seton Keogh High School), Muth is enrolled as a graduate student in educational leadership at Delaware. She earned her undergraduate degree in sport management with a minor in leadership in 2007.
A four-year letterwinner and the 2008 team co-captain, Muth enjoyed an outstanding career for the Blue Hens earning first team IWLCA All-Region honors in 2006, second team All-Region honors in 2007, and second team All-CAA laurels in both 2007 and 2008.
She scored 114 goals and dished out 42 assists for 154 points during her career, ranking her 12th all-time at UD in goals and 14th in points. She was the team’s No. 2 leading scorer in 2008 with 32 goals and 16 assists.
Muth was one of 21 CAA players named to the team. Drexel’s Jessica Bill was named the IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
