NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women’s lacrosse goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny was selected to the WomensLacrosse.com All-American Third Team, it was announced on May 26.
Cerveny joined 63 other players from around the nation on the website’s three all-american teams and all-rookie team. The CAA had two other representatives on the All-American teams. William & Mary’s Sarah Johnson and Old Dominion’s Kelly Kimener joined Cerveny on the third team.
A first team All-CAA selection, Cerveny started all 18 games, playing every minute of all but one game when she was relieved for just 14:34. She played 1075:26 minutes in goal for the Hens this season, which ranks third all-time in school history. She allowed 150 goals and made 157 saves.
A native of Islip, N.Y. (Islip HS), Cerveny ranked in the top-five in the conference in three categories. She was No. 1 in goals against average at 8.54 per game, No. 2 in save percentage (.494) and fifth in groundballs per game with 2.75.
