NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women’s lacrosse coaching staff will host a 5v5 Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 25 on the new turf fields located behind Delaware Stadium on South College Avenue.
New Blue Hen head coach Kateri Linville, assistant coach Kristin Hopson, and current members of the UD squad will serve as instructors for the clinic, which is geared to high school-aged varsity level lacrosse players looking to take their game to the next competitive level, develop team concepts, and have fun.
The clinic will be held from 12-4 p.m. (registration begins at 11 a.m.). Following the one-hour clinic, teams will play in a round robin tournament and compete for the Delaware Lacrosse 5v5 championship. The clinic is open to high school girls in grades 9-12. Varsity playing experience is recommended.
Teams must have at least five players and one goalkeeper when registering with squads limited to eight players. All participants must complete their own registration but team registration - which would include all applications being submitted on one check - is preferred. Individuals can register but will be assigned to a house team. The fee is $400 per registered team and $55 per individual. Checks should be made payable to the University of Delaware.
Players are requested to bring a team uniform, goggles, mouth guard, stick, turf cleats, water bottle, goalie equipment, and rain gear.
To access the registration forms on-line, go to the UD Athletics website at www.bluehens.com and select Women’s Lacrosse under the Teams category. For more information, contact Kristin Hopson at 302-831-0880 or by email at khopson@udel.edu.
