LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL -- University of Delaware senior women’s track and field sprinter Daniella Price (at right) will take part in the 10th annual NCAA Leadership Conference this weekend at Walt Disney World.

Price, a senior English major from Boothwyn, PA (Chichester High School), will be one of 352 student-athletes from NCAA Division I schools who have been tabbed as current or future leaders on their campuses. The conference serves as a forum to enhance leadership and decision-making skills and provides an opportunity to discuss key issues in intercollegiate athletics.

The conference provides student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses and in their communities, while also providing them with the opportunity to enhance their communication and skill sets. The NCAA Leadership Conference also promotes better communication among student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, and communities. The conference consists of daily exercises and activities to help the student-athletes develop as individuals and as contributing members to a group.

During the leadership conferences, student-athletes will discuss a variety of topics such as sportsmanship, public perceptions of student-athletes, conflict resolution, student-athlete mental health, and social responsibilities.

Price closed out her track career this past spring and earned three letters for outdoor track and two for indoor track despite battling injuries throughout her career. An honor student, she has been active with the UD Student Services for Athletes and with the UD Student Athlete Advisory Council.

She ranks in the all-time Delaware top 10 in 14 events, including seven indoors and seven outdoors. She ranks No. 2 all-time at Delaware in the 800 meter relay (1:43.20) and 1,600 meter relay (3:54.24), No. 3 in the 400 meter relay (47.45), No. 5 in the 100 meter hurdles (15.04), No. 7 in the 200 meter dash (25.49), No. 9 in the 400 meter hurdles (1:06.89), and No. 10 n the 100 meters (12.38).

Indoors, she ranks No. 2 all-time at Delaware in the 60 meter dash (7.88), No. 2 in the 200 meters (25.56), No. 3 in the 55 meters (7.30), No. 3 in the 60 meter hurdles (9.45), No. 4 in the 55 meter hurdles (8.69), No. 4 in the 1,600 meter relay (3:58.97), and No. 8 in the 300 meters (43.46).

Price, who has captured four meet titles during her career, placed third in the 100 meter hurdles at the 2003 Colonial Athletic Association outdoor championships and third in the 400 meter relay at the 2004 CAA outdoor championships. She competed at the ECAC regional championships indoors in 2006 in the 1,600 meter relay (26th place) and competed at the 2003 ECAC outdoor 1,600 meter relay (17th place).
