PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Delaware closed out competition at the ECAC and IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships Sunday afternoon as the Blue Hens collected four top 10 performances and posted three All-East finishes at Princeton University’s Weaver Track Stadium.

Junior Cristine Marquez closed out an impressive meet as she earned All-East honors in two events, placing sixth in the 200 meters (24.56) and teaming with Asia Hollis, Alexi Capsouras, and Kristi Cox (at right) to post a seventh place finish in the 4 x 400 meter relay (3:48.94).

Both performances earned All-East honors for placing in the top eight. Also earning All-East honors was Amanda Marshall, who finished eighth in the discus with a school-record setting toss of 148-0, surpassing her own UD mark by nearly two feet. Marshall had placed 17th in the event a year ago.

Leading the UD men was the 4 x 800 meter relay team of Corey Wall, Mike Tait, Nate Twer, and James Townsend which finished ninth with a time of 7:39.70. Albany won the race with a clocking of 7:24.72. Delaware’s team had broken a 13-year school record in Saturday’s preliminaries with a clocking of 7:32.89.

The Delaware women posted a 38th place team finish while the Blue Hen men placed 53rd overall. Connecticut captured the women’s ECAC team title while Albany was the winner of the IC4A men’s team competition. The two Delaware teams combined to post 10 top 10 finishes and four All-East performances over the three-day meet.

Also competing for the Blue Hens during the final day of action were Jillian Seamon and John Viotto. Seamon, a freshman, placed 14th in the women’s javelin with a toss of 132-0 while Viotto was 13th in the shot put with a throw of 52-2 1/2. Viotto, who had finished 20th in the event last season, also placed 28th in the discus on Friday.
