NEWARK, DE - The
University of Delaware dropped its match with Boston
University, 2-0 in women's soccer, Friday afternoon at the
Delaware Mini-Stadium.
Delaware (6-7-1, 4-2 America
East) and Boston University (9-6-0, 5- 1 America East) were
locked in a scoreless tie until 37:52 into the game. At that
moment, Boston University freshman Suzanne Hudak scored off
a feed from freshman Tiffany Chag.
The teams continued to battle
into the second half. The Terriers put the icing on the cake
at 64:59, when freshman Allison Merkle managed to find the
net from about 25 yards out.
Delaware now falls to either
third or fourth place in the America East, depending upon
the outcome of the Hofstra/Maine game.
Delaware will next take the
field on Sunday, as it hosts Northeastern at 1 p.m. in
another conference showdown.
