America East Tournament - Semifinals

WEST HARTFORD, CT -- On the strength of first
half goals by Danielle Kormbacher and Hege Lauvik,
top-seeded Hartford eliminated fourth-seeded Delaware, 3-1,
in the America East Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals
Wednesday at Al-Marzook Field.
Kormbacher got the Hawks on the board at 21:01
when she blasted a shot just under the cross bar from 12
yards out.
Lauvik made it a 2-0 game when she headed
Sandra Doreleijers' free kick into the top of the net at
26:59.
Hartford (14-4-2) took a 3-0 lead with just
over nine minutes remaining when Lauvik scored her second of
the day from 15 yards out.
Delaware got on the board at 87:14 when Amy
Brino scored on a penalty kick after a hand ball was called
inside the box.
The Hawks outshot Delaware, 18-10. Rachel
Bersin had six saves for Delaware (8-9-1). Ingrid Sternhoff
had three saves for Hartford.
Hartford advances to the America East
Tournament final, where it will host the winner of the
Boston University-Hofstra game. Sunday's title game will
begin at 1 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic berth
into the NCAA Tournament.
