NEWARK, DE - The University of Delaware women's soccer team was defeated by St. Joe's, 3-2, at the Delaware Mini-Stadium, Sunday. The Hens trailed, 3-0, when they got on the board. Megan McFadden scored off an assist from Amy Brino with 19 minutes left. Cate Harrison scored off an Brino corner kick with seven minutes left to pull the Hens within one. Delaware missed an opportunity to score with 12 minutes left when McFadden broke free behind the St. Joe's defense. She was taken down from behind in the box, but the official let play continue. St. Joe's was led by Ellen-Carine Stenrud, who had two goals on the afternoon. Delaware (2-4) will take the field Saturday as they travel to Towson to open the America East season. The game time is 1 p.m.
