High School: Four-year starter and letterwinner at Waldwick High School • named second team all-league in 2005, and first team all-league in 2006-08 • all-state selection final three seasons • two-time All-Bergen County honoree • named All-Suburban as a senior • member of 2008 state champions • tallied 68 goals and 27 assists at Waldwick • played on Nirvana and TSF Academy teams • honor roll student.
Personal: Miriam Kocela • daughter of Marian and Zdenka Kocela • has a younger sister, Michelle • exercise science major at Delaware • hopes to become a physical therapist • enjoys pole vaulting, snowboarding and gymnastics in her free time • works as a trainer at Superdome Sports during the summer.
