vs. East Carolina

Penn and East Carolina were victorious in their first day of action at the Delaware Women's Soccer Classic Saturday at the Delaware Mini-Stadium. Penn beat Radford 4-0 in the first game while East Carolina was victorious over host Delaware 5-0. In the second game of the day, East Carolina (4-0) used a hat trick from Kim Sandhoff to defeat Delaware (1-2) 5-0. The Pirates and Blue Hens played a back and forth in a first half that saw only one goal coming with 10:05 left in the first half when Sandhoff scored her first of three goals. The second half was a different story for the Blue Hens who saw the Pirates score four unanswered goals, inlcuding two goals within a 36 second span in the middle of the half. Stephanie Wrass and Erin Cann also contributed with one goal each to seal the victory for East Carolina. Delaware Sophomore goalie Lauren Larentowicz filled in for starter Allison Martin, who was nursing a leg injury. In the first game Penn (1-0) used two goals by Kelly Stevens on the way to a 4-0 win.
