The University of Delaware (1-5-1) women's
soccer team lost to Fairfield (7-1) 2-0 on Sunday
at the Delaware Mini-Stadium. The loss extended the
Blue Hens' winless streak to six. Abby Allan led
the way for Fairfield with one goal and one assist.
The first half saw no scoring by either team and
was evenly contested. Fairfield came out strong in
the second half when Allan scored one minute and 39
seconds into the second half. Allan sparked the
Stags again when she played a perfect pass to Suzy
Folger for the second goal with 37:38 left in the
second half. Fairfield outshot Delaware 15-12, 6-5
in the first half and 9-7 in the second half.
Delaware Senior goalkeeper Allison Martin
who returned from a strained knee ligament to play
for the first time in three games, registered five
saves.
