Delaware Classic vs. Radford Sept. 13, 1998 at 3:00 p.m. T 1-1 (OT)
Penn (2-0) won 2-0 against East Carolina (4-1)
and Delaware (1-2-1) tied with Radford (1-1-2) on
the second day of the Delaware Women's Soccer
Classic Sunday at the Delaware Mini-Stadium. In the
second game of the day Delaware used a goal by
Kelly Walker in the first half to put the
Hens up until early in the second half when Karen
Dellavia put in a goal to tie it at 1-1. Despite 20
shots on goal and a school record 20 corner kicks
the Blue Hens were unable to break the tie with
Radford. Walker scored the first goal on a cross
from Megan McFadden that she headed in with
33:36 left in the first half. Radford responded
early in the second half when Dellavia scored off a
pass from Kelly Quisenberry to knot the score at
1-1 Delaware was only two corner kicks off of tying
the NCAA record for most corner kicks in a game.
Sophomore Laura Larentowicz played her
second straight game as Allison Martin
continued to nurse a leg injury. In the first game
Penn used a goal and an assist from Jill Callaghan
to catapault the Quakers to the win.
