PRINCETON, NJ -- Julie
Shaner scored a goal and added an assist as the Princeton
University women's soccer team defeated the University of
Delaware, 3-0, Tuesday night at Princeton.
Theresa Sherry and Jenny
Skinner also scored for the Tigers (7-1), who handed the
Blue Hens their second straight loss.
After missing three matches
due to an ankle injury, Delaware goalkeeper Rachel
Bersin returned to the lineup and made a season-high
eight saves. The match marked the first time this season
Delaware (8-3-1) has allowed more than one goal in a
match.
Ginette Buffone led the
Hens with three shots, and Brittany Campbell and
Fran Termini added two each for Delaware.
The Blue Hens will return to
action Friday afternoon when they host seventh-ranked
Hartford at 4 p.m. at Delaware Field.
