Hawks stop Hens in
double OT
WEST HARTFORD, CT--
University of Hartford's Malin Engman scored with a little
over a minute remaining in the second overtime to lift the
Hawks past University of Delaware, 2-1, in women's soccer
action Friday night.
Delaware, playing its first
game in 12 days, evened its season mark at 2-2.
After Hartford (2-2) took a
1-0 lead seven minutes into the second half, Blue Hen junior
Caryn Blood tied the game with her first goal of the
season, with assists by Ginette Buffone and
Brittany Campbell. For Buffone, a sophomore out of
Enfield, CT, it was her fourth assist of the young
season.
Delaware's junior keeper
Rachel Bersin's recorded a season-high 11 saves to
help the Hens push the match into its second overtime before
Engman scored on a header.
Delaware will try to end a
two-game losing streak Sunday at Vermont starting at 1
p.m
