Orono, ME -- A pair of
unassisted goals were all the University of Delaware's
women's soccer team needed to defeated the University of
Maine in a crucial America East match-up, Friday afternoon
at Alumni Field.
After a scoreless first half,
sophomore forward Francesca Termini came out of a scramble
in front of the goal to net her fifth goal of the season,
and first since October 3.
Christine Wrightson added her
second goal in as many games with a header at the 80:02 mark
to seal the victory for the Blue Hens (9-6-1,
4-4-1).
Blue Hen keeper Rachel Bersin
collected two saves in recording her third shutout of the
season.
With the victory, Delaware
pulls two points ahead of Maine (6-6-3, 3-5-3) and one point
ahead of Vermont for fifth place in the conference. Vermont
