Blue Hens pick up
first win of the season over Saint Joseph's, 2-1
PHILADELPHIA -- Junior
midfielder Caryn Blood scored in the 85th minute to
give Delaware a 2-1 victory over Saint Joseph's, in women's
soccer on Wednesday. Blood fired a shot from the 18 that
deflected off a Hawk defender.
Junior forward Francesca
Termini opened the scoring in the 47th minute when she
one-timed a pass from senior forward Brittany Campbell
into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Kim Miller tied the game for
the Hawks as she deflected a cross from the left side by
Jodi Young in the 84th minute.
Andrea Lunn had four
saves in the Delaware win.
The Blue Hens outshot Saint
Joseph's 14-5 and held an 8-0 advantage in corner
kicks.
The Blue Hens travel to
Piscataway, NJ on Sunday to face Rutgers at 1
p.m.
