Blue Hens Fall to James Madison, 2-0

 HARRISONBURG, VA (October 28, 2004)-- James Madison's Annie Lowry scored a goal in each half as James Madison defeated the University of Delaware women's soccer team, 2-0 on Thursday night in Colonial Athletic Association action. This loss snaps the Blue Hens (9-5-3, 4-3-1 CAA0 three game win streak.

The Dukes (9-6-3, 4-2-2 CAA) jumped on the Blue Hens early as Lowry tallied her first goal just 58 seconds into the game. Lowry's goal came off a pass from Natalie Ewell and Sarah Cebulski.

James Madison outshot the Blue Hens in the first half, 8-3.

Lowry's second goal came with approximately three minutes to go in the game, this time she took a shot from 9 yards out and was able to connect. Juniors Shannon Alger (Hopatcong, NJ/ Morris Catholic) and Mary Beth Creed (Owings Mills, MD/ McDonogh) each tallied four shots but were unable to connect as the Dukes outshot the Blue Hens 18-13 for the match.

Sophomore Bonnie Mills (Bear, DE/ Caravel Academy- at right) was solid in goal making nine saves for the Blue Hens while Jessica Hussey was forced to make five saves for the Dukes.

Delaware returns to action on Saturday night when the Blue Hens travel to George Mason looking to secure a playoff spot for the CAA tournament. Game time for the Blue Hens regular season finale is 7 p.m.
