NEWARK, DE-- The University of Delaware women’s soccer team scored the only goal of the match early in the second half in defeating James Madison, 1-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association match Sunday at Delaware Mini-Stadium.
Senior Jennifer Krepps (at right) scored her first goal of the season 2:14 into the second half on a penalty kick. The kick was set up when Delaware’s Alli D’Amico was taken down in the right side of the goal box. Krepps then blasted her shot low inside the right post, beating Dukes goalkeeper Jessica Hussey.
Hussey made three saves in a losing effort for the Dukes. Lindsey Shover made six saves to post the shutout for the Hens. The shutout is Shover’s fourth of the season and 18th of her career at Delaware. Shover’s biggest save was on JMU’s Sarah Cebulski with less than 10 seconds remaining to preserve the win for the Hens.
Delaware will return to action this Friday when it travels to George Mason for a 7 p.m. match with the Patriots.
