WEST POINT, NY -- The University of Delaware women’s soccer team wrapped up a weekend at the BAE Systems Tournament hosted by Army with a 0-0 tie against Air Force on Sunday afternoon.
Bonnie Mills made seven saves for her fourth shutout of the season for the Hens (5-1-2). Air Force goalkeeper Erin Wallace made five saves to shutout the Hens for the first time this season.
Delaware was able to earn a tie despite being outshot 20-8 by the Falcons (1-6-2). Lindsay Boyd recorded four of the Hens’ eight shots, including three that were turned away by Wallace.
The game marked the first time that Delaware played to a scoreless tie since August 29, 2004 in a home game against Seton Hall.
In the second game of the day, Fairfield defeated Army 2-1 to win the tournament with a 2-0 record. At the tournament’s conclusion, Mills and Kasie Shover were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Hens will return to action on Friday when they host Old Dominion for the beginning of Colonial Athletic Association play. Game time from Delaware Mini-Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
