NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women’s soccer team defeated Colonial Athletic Association foe George Mason, 3-0 Sunday afternoon on Senior Day.

Seniors Lisa Parsons, Jamie Flynn, Dana Rodgers, Caitlin Pink, Alli D’Amico (at right) and Erin Lensky played their last regular season game at Delaware Mini Stadium, and they went out with a bang. The Hens improved to 6-8-1, 3-5 with the win while George Mason fell to 4-11-1, 1-6-1.

Caitlyn Germain assisted on all three goals and goalkeeper Breanna Stemler saved five shots on the day.

Delaware started the scoring when Amy Pickard scored her fourth goal of the season off some pretty passing by Caitlyn Germain and Alli D’Amico. D’Amico received a pass from Germain near the net and then had a gorgeous backwards flick to find an open Pickard in the box, and she did the rest to put the Hens up 1-0 nearly nine minutes into the game.

Neither team would score the rest of the half, as Delaware controlled most of the action. The Hens would add their second goal near the 70-minute mark. Germain, who has had a foot in every Delaware goal scored this weekend, sent a cross right in front of the goal, and the 5-9 D’Amico went up and headed it in the right side of the net.

With under a minute left to play, Germain found Ilyssa Friedman on a corner kick in front of the net, and the sophomore defender headed in her first goal of the season to make the final score, 3-0.
