ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The University of Delaware women's soccer team defeated Winthrop 2-0 Sunday afternoon in game three of the Navy Tournament on the strength of a career-high two goals by sophomore forward Amy Pickard (at right).

Pickard got the Hens on the board in just under four minutes of play when she put in a rebound after Winthrop goalkeeper Dimitra Poulos saved a shot by senior midfielder Alli D'Amico.

She would also add an insurance goal for the Hens nearly 20 minutes into the second half when she put home a shot from 25 yards out inside the right post.

Senior Annie Bevan had four saves in goal to preserve the shutout.

The Blue Hens took control of the game early and did not let up. They outshot Winthrop 19-4. Seven Blue Hen players took shots on the day.
