The voting was conducted by sports information directors at member schools.
To be eligible for the team, student athletes must carry a 3.3 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale, have at least sophomore eligibility and be a starter or key reserve for their respective teams. District 2 includes all NCAA Division I schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Davis, a graduate of Salesianum School, has started each of the Blue Hens’ 18 games this season helping UD double its win total from a year ago with six victories. The defender also has a pair of assists to his credit. Davis looks to end the 2009 campaign with a victory tomorrow at 3 p.m. when the Hens take on Georgia State for a 3 p.m. senior day match.
Delaney, a defender, started all 17 games for Delaware this season, and tallied her first collegiate goal in the Sept. 18 victory over Delaware State at Delaware Mini-Stadium. A graduate of Damascus High School, Delaney helped the Blue Hens to a 6-6-5 season, 3-4-4 in Colonial Athletic Association action.
