Thursday Results SEWELL, NJ -- University of Delaware freshman Kevin Weisser and senior Lisa Dillinger each earned All-East honors at the third and final day of the ECAC Mens Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday evening at the Gloucester Swim Club. The Delaware women finished 14th overall in the final 31-team standings while the UD men placed 16th out of 36 teams. Boston College won the womens team title with 513 points ahead of UMBC, Boston University, Central Connecticut, and Navy. UMBC won the mens team title with 599 points ahead of Yale, Central Connecticut, LaSalle, and Marist. Weisser (Franklin Regional/Murrysville, PA) was the Hens top finisher, placing fifth in the 1,650 freestyle in a time of 16:29.29 to become the second UD mens swimmer to earn All-East honors at the meet. Senior Tom Maday was fourth in the 100 breaststroke on Friday. Dillinger (Pallotti/Crofton, MD) earned All-East honors for the women, placing eighth in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:11.56. She also placed 12th in the 100 backstroke on Friday. Also for the Delaware men, Maday (Great Mills/Lexington Park, MD) was 14th in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.77) and Tim Wasiewski (Conestoga Valley/Lancaster, PA) was 16th in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.36), Also for the Delaware women, Kathryn Fryer (Severna Park, Md. HS) was 10th in the 200 backstroke (2:09.28), Jenna Blongiewicz (Andover, Ma. HS) was 14th in the 200 backstroke (2:13.42), and Amy Spooner (Upper Dublin/Maple Glen, PA) was 19th in the 1,650 freestyle (18:24.56). Delawares womens 400 freestyle relay also placed 11th in a time of 3:39.39. The meet concluded the 1999-2000 season for both the UD mens and womens teams. Madays performance highlighted the action for the UD mens and womens teams on Friday. The third and final day of action ended late Saturday evening. Maday, who won three events at last weeks America East championships, covered the 100 breaststroke in a time of 57.66 to place fourth overall. He also earned All-East honors when he placed sixth in the 200 breaststroke in 1999 and fifth in the 100 breaststroke in 1998. Also for the Delaware men on Friday, Tim Wasiewski (Conestoga Valley/Lancaster, PA) was 16th in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.66), Kevin Weisser (Franklin Regional/Murrysville, PA) was 23rd in the 100 butterfly (56.98), Jim Reichart (Emmaus, Pa. HS) was 28th in the 200 freestyle (1:48.84), and the 800 freestyle relay team placed 11th (7:12.41). Highlighting the Blue Hen women was Lisa Dillinger (Palotti/Crofton, MD) who placed 12th in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.16. Also for the Hens, the 800 freestyle relay team placed eighth (7:52.76), the 200 medley relay team placed ninth (1:52.10), Kathryn Fryer (Severna Park, Md. HS) was 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:01.16) and 17th in the 100 butterfly (1:00.34), Jennifer Haus (St. Marks HS) was 19th in the 200 freestyle (1:58.61), Danielle Hack (Susquehanna/Harrisburg, PA) 23rd in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.95), Katie Poore (Glasgow HS) was 28th in the 400 individual medley (4:52.80) and 36th in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.64), Emily Mitchell (Arundel/Crofton, MD) was 28th in the 200 freestyle (1:59.92), Amanda Stouffer (O.J. Roberts/Spring City, PA) was 31st in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.95), Lisa Macfarlane (Quince Orchard/Potomac, MD) was 31st in the 100 butterfly (1:01.35), Christine Johannsen (Dayton Regional/Springfield, NJ) was 32nd in the 100 backstroke (1:03.61), Amy Spooner (Upper Dublin/Maple Glen, PA) was 43rd in the 200 freestyle (2:03.62).
