In the men's final, No. 1 seed Hofstra

win over No. 2 seed Towson University.
No. 2 seed Delaware (13-5), which has now
finished second in each of the last seven America East
championships, lost to the Terriers in the championship
match for the second straight year. Boston University edged
Delaware for the title the previous four seasons when the
tournament was based on total points and not played under
the current team format.

sophomore Elly Giese (National Cathedral/Washington,
DC), 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1; Christina Causway downed junior
Kristin Wasniewski (Archmere/West Chester, PA) 6-0, 6-1
at No. 2; Karina Shostakovsky downed senior Karen

Giese is now 8-10 in singles while
Wasniewski fell to 11-6, Greenstein fell to 10-8, Kamen and
Wilkes fell to 14-4, and Guerin fell to 3-2.
The team will conclude its season with
home matches vs. Lafayette (Tuesday) and Bucknell
(Wednesday) this week.
Kamen, who tied a UD record by playing
her 85th career singles match, will enter Tuesday with a
career singles record of 72-13, one win shy of the UD school
record of 73 wins set by current UD head coach Laura
Travis in 1985-89. Greenstein is 55-18 all-time in her
career at doubles and with a win would tie the UD career
doubles win record of 56 set by Rebecca Fearins in
1993-98.
