Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals
November 6-9 at Harvard University


NEWARK, DE -- Four University of Delaware men's and women's tennis players competed at Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals this weekend.

In the men's ITA Regionals at Princeton, Delaware senior Chris Johnson (Sewickley/Pittsburgh, PA) lost his first round match to Fairleigh Dickinson's Juan David Quinones 6-4, 6-2.

In men's doubles action, Navy's team of Spencer Wilcox and Joe McCauley downed Johnson and sophomore Sean Kelly (Pennsbury/Yardley, PA) 8-4 in the first round.

At the women's ITA Regionals at Harvard, Delaware sophomore Elly Giese (National Cathedral/Washington, DC) received a first round bye but lost to Harvard's Andrea Magyera 6-2, 6-1 in the second round.

In women's doubles action, Cornell's team of Jodie Hurley and Suzanne Wright defeated Giese and junior Kristin Wasniewski (Archmere/West Chester, PA) 8-5 in the first round.

The matches concluded the fall season for the University of Delaware tennis teams. Both teams will resume action in March.
