PHILADELPHIA - The University of Delaware women's tennis team remained undefeated for the fall, winning all but one match in straight sets on the way to a 9-0 non-league win over host St. Joseph's Friday afternoon.

The Blue Hens, playing for the first time since Oct. 3, improved to 6-0 overall while St. Joseph's closed out its fall season with a record of 3-10. Delaware has now won 11 straight regular season matches since last April.

Posting straight set victories for the Hens were Kristin Wasniewski at No. 2, Karen Greenstein at No. 3, Erin Kamen at No. 4, Jessica Wilkes at No. 5, and Martine Street at No. 6. Blue Hen No. 1 player Elly Giese needed three sets to down SJU's Alison Poppen 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles play, the Blue Hen teams of Giese-Wasniewski, Greenstein-Street, and Kamen-Wilkes all won easily.

Wasniewski, Kamen, and Wilkes all improved to 6-0 on the season at singles while the double team of Greenstein and Street improved to 6-0.

The Hens will return to action Sunday when they host Howard at 1 p.m.
