Brendan Heron will begin his second season as assistant coach for the University of Delaware women and men’s tennis teams in 2010-11.
Heron helped the UD women's squad to a dominating 13-6 record and the men's team to a record of 10-11, as both teams made a trip to the semifinal round of the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association Tournament. Heron helped coach six All-CAA selections, a pair of Hens' teams honored for doubles play, and two honored for singles performances.
Heron, a 2008 graduate of the University of Delaware, was a member of the nationally-ranked club tennis team.
Heron is a Professional Tennis Registry Certified tennis instructor. He has three years experience as an instructor or site manager for the Arthur Ashe and Youth Tennis and National Junior Tennis League summer programs in Philadelphia.
In addition, Heron has served as an instructor at the Delaware National Country Club tennis camp and at the Pink Creek Racquet and Swim summer tennis camp.
While at Delaware, Heron was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society and graduated cum laude. Teaching World History, Introduction to Law and Advance Placement European History at Salesianum High School, Heron prepares his students to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
