Delaware vs. Drexel Oct. 11, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. W 9-0
The University of Delaware men's and women's
tennis teams both picked up America East victories
over Drexel Sunday afternoon. The Delaware women
(6-0, 4-0 America East) downed Drexel 9-0 while the
Blue Hen men (1-0) opened their 1998-99 season with
an 8-1 victory over the Dragons. The Blue Hen
women, who have now won 48 of their last 49 matches
since 1995, won all six singles matches in straight
sets and improved to 35-1 in singles play. Erin
Kamen improved to 6-0 at No. 4 singles and
moved into fifth place on the UD career singles
wins list with a record of 43- 4. Kristin
Wasniewski (Archmere) and Rachel Dencker
(Concord HS) teamed for a win at No. 1 doubles to
improve to 25-1 in their career, one shy of the
school record.
